ROESTMACHINE
The Rust Machine was born out of fascination for rust and the process of decay. Oxygen is essential to the oxidation process, which is why the nails are moving up and down in a liquid. The nails, which are all made of the same metal, are all submerged in different liquids at the same time. One can even imagine that they are given small moments to catch a breath before they disappear into the liquid again. The aim of the machine is to attempt to gain control over the rusting process. The colors that develop from certain oxidations is so intense that they were used in the past to make pigments for paint. What happens to the nails?
